Sideshow

Revolution Hall & Park Stage
Friday, 7pm-11pm

New this year, an evening with some of our favorite projects from the internet. Hosted by Tom Lum, science communicator and Let’s Learn Everything! co-host.

SmallBü / Worthikids

Festival favorites Alex and Lindsay Small-Butera are SMALLBÜ, the two-time Emmy-winning animation duo behind Later Alligator, Daffodil, and cult web series Baman Piderman. They'll join us remotely with a very special guest, Worthikids creator Ian Worthington.

The Pudding

The Pudding explains complex ideas in culture with deeply-researched interactive visualizations, pairing data journalism and information design. But what would The Pudding be like in front of a live audience? Journalist-engineers Michelle Pera-McGhee and Matt Daniels are ready to find out.

Never Post

Never Post is a member-supported, employee-owned podcast about and for the internet, hosted by XOXO 2013 alum Mike Rugnetta. Co-producers Georgia Hampton, Jason Oberholtzer, and Hans Buetow join Mike at XOXO for their first live episode ever.

Every Frame A Painting

Taylor Ramos and Tony Zhou ended Every Frame A Painting, their pioneering series of video essays about film form, shortly after premiering the last one at XOXO 2016. They return to XOXO to premiere their first video essay in eight years, along with a special screening of their debut short film, The Second, starring Paul Sun-Hyung Lee and Ethan Hwang.

Annie Rauwerda started Depths of Wikipedia out of pandemic boredom in April 2020, mining the world’s biggest encyclopedia for comedy gold and building an audience of millions. Now, Annie’s bringing the best Wikipedia-themed comedy show around to the XOXO stage.
